Welcome to Balnacraig

SALINE is a picturesque village dating back to the 13th century and has extensive views of the Ochil Hills. On a clear day Ben Lomond, Wallace Monument and Stirling Castle can be seen. The village has a Post Office, General Store, Church and a challenging 9 hole golf course.

Sitting a few miles from Saline is Lathalmond Bus Museum which is open every Sunday from Easter to October. The museum is home to 200 buses, many of which have been fully restored.

DUNFERMLINE is our closest city with over 900 years of Scottish history. It is the last resting place of many Scottish kings and queens and King Robert the Bruce is buried in Dunfermline Abbey.  Andrew Carnegie’s birthplace and museum, Abbots House and Pittencrieff  Park are well worth a visit. Other historical interests nearby include the preserved village of Culross, Wallace Monument in Stirling and Edinburgh Castle.
Fife Leisure Park in Dunfermline has many eating places for families along with a ten pin bowling alley, a multi screen cinema and a large garden centre.

FALKIRK WHEEL is a 30 minute car journey away and is the only rotating boat lift in the world and will raise you in a boat from the Forth & Clyde Canal to the Union Canal.
Other attractions in the area include Sterling Mills shopping outlet and Deep Sea World where you can see the UK’s largest collection of Tiger Sharks.  Loch Leven has an excellent circuit walkway around the shore for about 8 miles with paths suitable for wheelchairs, bikes and buggies and is about 20 minutes from Balnacraig.
